Sweets by Kate By Composer: Griffin Candey &Librettist: Thom K. Miller

About Sweets by Kate: Set in a 1950's sweet shop the main inspiration for this piece was 1950's advertisements of the stereotypical perfect woman and perfect town. When you take this town at face value everything seems happy and perfect, only to reveal the prejudice that lies underneath it all. The character of Carl Silverton is the devil in disguise who has control over the town but dresses as a grocer in order to blend in.
